Round 5

Mexico City

Sat. 12 Mar. 2016

Race
Mexico City

Race

After di Grassi disqualification, d'Ambrosio won the Mexico ePrix. Buemi P2 and Prost P3.

Race

The FIA disqualified car for di Grassi. His car has been found underweight at 886.2 kg.

Race

After his win, Lucas di Grassi was very happy on the podium.

ABOUT THE race

I don't mind [d'Ambrosio] closing the door, but he has to close it early. When I was already committed to overtaking him and he closed the door, I couldn't avoid touching his car. I don't quite get it. It's something we will need to discuss next time.

Sébastien Buemi (Renault eDams), third

ABOUT THE race

"It was a close call [with Buemi], but the only time he overtook me was when he cut the chicane. Otherwise, the race was fantastic and despite a little issue with heavy steering in the second car, I gave it absolutely everything I had. I owe a big thanks to the whole team."

Jérôme D’Ambrosio (Dragon Racing), second

ABOUT THE race

That was just a perfect race. It's really hard to overtake here, which made the first half a bit like a game of chess. I had the patience to attack Prost at the right moment before the pit-stop, and then I used the FanBoost to overtake Jérôme. After that, I pushed very hard for three or four laps to build a gap. It feels awesome!

Lucas di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport), winner
